"The
Ascension of Ganymede"
©2005
It
is said that the god Zeus lusted after the beautiful youth Ganymede
so much that he descended from Mt. Olympus in the form of an eagle
to take the boy as his lover. Ganymede was then made the cupbearer
of the Gods and granted immortality as the constellation Aquarius,
contrasted by the constellation attributed to Zeus, Aquila, the
eagle. (You can read my version of the myth here.)
