In the symbolic realm of the Tarot, the Magician represents our own mastery of awareness and our ability to cause change to occur in accordance with our will. Depicted with the symbolic tools of the four elements, the magician exists in dynamic balance between the universal forces that he conjures: the red, primal energies of the earth and the fetch, and the blue, refined energies of the cosmos and the god self. These spheres of power intersect at his sex, a reminder that spiritual and sexual power are one and the same, and his shadow wings illustrate how, when entranced, he has the ability to rise above the concerns of mundane existence. He is surrounded by stars, showing us how he has achieved one-ness with universal being.
